All of your prenatal appointments take place at Valley Birthplace, in our office on the 2nd Floor.
Your first prenatal exam often takes place when you are 10 weeks pregnant and usually lasts 40 minutes, with plenty of time for you to ask questions.
The remainder of your appointments, until you give birth, are about 20 minutes and occur:
- once every 4 weeks until 28 weeks pregnant
- once every 2 weeks from 28 weeks pregnant to 36 weeks pregnant
- once weekly from 36 weeks pregnant until you give birth
Returning clients also have an option for targeted prenatal visits.
Connecting with the Midwives
We schedule your prenatal visits to include some time with each of our nurse-midwives, so that you get to know the team. The midwife on-call will support you during labor and birth.
Our midwives are available:
- During regular office hours to address questions and issues
- 24 hours a day / 7 days a week for labor or emergency issues
For your convenience, most of our lab work is done at the birth center. We can also conduct a Non-Stress Test, if necessary to check the baby’s heart rate.
